OJT Program

Do you have a need for new employees but do not have the funds for initial training? The Region VII Workforce Development Board does. It is easy to expand your workforce with On the Job Training (OJT)

OJT is a method of providing individualized occupational skills training for Dislocated Workers and Low Income Adults. The goal of the OJT program is to place participants in occupations that will enhance their prospects for long-term employment. Through this program, businesses will be reimbursed a minimum of 50% of the new employee’s wages up to $6,000.00, while they are in training.

 

Requirements for the OJT Program

 

  • Participant must be Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act eligible
  • Participant must be a new employee
  • Employers must be established businesses with workers compensation insurance
  • The occupation must meet O*NET standards for the OJT.
